Sophie Tait

I am an artist, living and practising in South East London.

I make bold, botanically inspired, limited edition screen prints that evoke the experience of time in nature.

Every artwork starts life on a walk. These frequent retreats into London’s remaining wild spaces, have become much needed solace in our increasingly troubled world.

Whilst the experience can be bittersweet, I gain a sense of perspective and hope in witnessing the stubborn resilience of nature. And it is this rejuvenating, optimistic energy that I seek to capture in my work.

I work from observational drawings and photographs, overlaid with memory, imagination and emotion. It is an intuitive process, guided by the subjects and processes that naturally sustain my attention and bring me personal joy.

I am committed to using my creativity as force for good with 10% of every print sale donated to organisations progressing climate justice and nature restoration projects.
